Bio

Bev is a British artist now living in Kent.

She spent more than 30 years in Hampshire raising her family and it was here that she attended regular art classes with professional artist Jamel Akib. She quickly became inspired by his expressive use of vibrant colour and fresh approach to painting.

Over the years Bev has exhibited and sold her work in the Hampshire Open Studios, The New Forest Show, Appart exhibitions in Odiham, and in the Arigatou Gallery, Edenbridge (now closed).

Now she has returned to Kent where she was born and loves walking and exploring beautiful landscapes both in Hampshire and Kent, be it open moorland, wild hillsides, woodland and fields and records with photographs which inspire new paintings. As a keen gardener and plantswoman, plants also inspire her artwork.

Back in the studio she paints in oils, aiming to interpret the essence of what she sees in an expressive way. She also enjoys painting portraits and animals occasionally.
